Windows Phone 8 Start screen redesigned

WP 000123 - for some reason we don't have an alt tag here

Windows Phone 8 will allow users to customize the Start screen much more than is currently possible. Tiles can be resized, and you’re no longer limited to a list two tiles wide. It is completely customizable.

Live tiles look more alive, and the tile API is richer than ever before. Tiles come on three sizes: small, medium, and large. The screen can now fit four small live tiles horizontally. Additionally, the trough on the side has been removed, allowing the tiles to take up the entire width of the screen. The app list, however, is still accessible by swiping to the left. New colors have been added as well, allowing you to further customize the look.
