If you’re anything like me, you’ve probably refrained from installing Spotify on your Android device because, unless you’re paying for a premium plan, the Android app was pretty useless. Well, now you can throw all that out the window, as Spotify has opened up free, unlimited radio to all Android users, just like it already has on its iOS app.
Because of this, I’ve finally made the jump and installed it on my HTC EVO 4G LTE, and I have to admit that this very well might take the place that Pandora has held faithfully since my T-Mobile myTouch 3G days. Simply put, the free radio is awesome – I’ve been streaming it all morning, haven’t heard a single ad, and have unlimited skips. I can even enable cross-fading between tracks. In other words, it’s putting Pandora to shame.
But that’s not what this is really about – Spotify’s free radio is what I’m talking about here. And even if you don’t plan on paying to use any of Spotify’s other services, this in and of itself makes this well worth the download.
