Quick app review: Fresh Leaves live wallpaper for Android

As devices get faster and get better resolution screens, the selection of live wallpapers for Android is also getting better. Fresh Leaves is just such a wallpaper, and it looks great. The wallpaper features leaves blowing in the wind, with lots of available options to set wind speed, background weather, lighting, leaf type, and so on. The leaves are very realistic, and just having a photo-realistic live wallpaper that is made for higher resolution screens is frankly a breath of fresh air.

As great as the wallpaper is though, I have to agree wholeheartedly with one of the Play Store comments: it really needs weather integration. The wallpaper already has options that cover most weather situations, as well as the ability to switch wallpaper profiles (custom ones, even) based on the time of day. The only thing it really misses is the ability to automatically switch the wallpaper settings to reflect the weather forecast, which would allow you to use it as a weather forecast system. It seems like most of the needed effects are built in, so hopefully it’s only an update or two away from adding this functionality.
