Just as the company promised one week ago, Apple has released iOS 6. The update is available to download for compatible iDevices – devices like the new iPad and iPad 2; iPhone 3GS, 4, and 4S; and fourth-generation iPod touch.
In addition to Apple’s new in-house mapping service, iOS 6 adds over 200 additional features. Some of those features include system-wide Facebook integration, Siri enhancements, and Apple’s new Passbook app that allows you to store digital cards, passes, and tickets in one easy-to-find location.
To install it on your compatible iDevice, simply head on over to your nearest iTunes-equipped PC or Mac, plug the device in, and clicking the ‘Check for Update’ button in your device’s page. Of course, you can also force an over-the-air update by going to Settings > General > Software Update.
The update for my new iPad weighed in at 791MB, but depending on which device you own, your size will vary.
Let us know if you download iOS 6 today – and if you do, what your thoughts on it are!
