Since Google added compatibility for all major credit cards to its Google Wallet mobile payment app – including Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover – a bunch of people who had never used the service before decided to give it a second look. In fact, according to Google: “In the weeks since we released a new version of the Google Wallet app that supports all credit and debit cards, usage has more than doubled. Consumers have immediately grasped the benefit of being able to use any card when shopping in-store and online.”
More than doubling the number of people who use Google Wallet seems like quite an impressive feat – although admittedly, Google hasn’t released hard numbers. If only 1,000 people used the app before, adding 1,000 more isn’t that impressive. However, doubling from 1 million to 2 million is a bit more noteworthy.
