Kickstarter spotlight: Shimi

People have always like dancing robots, and I still remember those dancing Coke bottles that you could buy when I was little. Technology has progressed a bit since then, and the Shimi might just be the dancing Coke bottle’s great grandson. It’s a speaker dock for the iPhone that combines the computing capabilities of the iPhone with a speaker dock that has movable parts, making it do things like literally look for music and dance to any it finds.

The Shimi will get more features through software updates, and hopefully the iPhone 5 or 6 we’re waiting to hear about tomorrow will also be supported. There will also be an Android version, at least according to the project description. There’s an early bird option available for grabbing this for $129, and after that, $149 is the magic price. With a $100,000 goal and a higher novelty value than anything else it needs all the backers it can get.
