Deal Alert: Apple clearing out inventory of new iPad (third-generation) models

Apple may have just announced two new iPad models – the iPad mini and fourth-generation iPad – but there are other models still available to you for purchase should you not want the latest and greatest, but instead prefer to save a few bucks.

As a result of refreshing the biggest iPad yesterday, Apple has to clear out its inventory of third-generation iPads. Even though they are technically last-generation tablets, they are still incredibly powerful machines. I should know; I own one. iOS runs as smoothly as day one – and since it has a Retina display and the same design, you’re really not missing much from the new tablet aside from the doubly-powerful graphics from the new A6X chip.

The discounts are pretty decent for such a new product: 16GB WiFi models cost just $379, while top-of-the-line 64GB LTE models cost $679.

Considering that new models are more than $100 more expensive than that, I’d say these refurbished models are definitely worth a look if the iPad 2 or iPad mini don’t catch your eye.
