PlayStation Mobile is available today for certified Sony devices, with HTC and others coming soon

playstation certified - for some reason we don't have an alt tag here

PlayStation Mobile is now live, and that means that tons of PlayStation certified games will be making their way to a select few Android devices, along with the Playstation Vita (of course). Right now, only Sony devices are listed as compatible with the gaming service, including the Sony Tablet P, the Sony Tablet S, the Xperia Tablet S, and the Xperia acro series, ion series, PLAY series, and a few others. Details on the HTC One X, One S, and One V will be announced soon.

There are around 30 games that will be available soon, but the initial list includes these 21 titles:

  • Super Crate Box
  • Twist Pilot
  • Rebel
  • Fuel Tiracas
  • Aqua Kitty – Milk Mine Defender
  • Underline
  • Samurai Beatdown
  • Beats Slider
  • Hungary Giraffe
  • Tractor Trails
  • Word Blocked
  • Flick Hockey
  • Beats Trellis
  • Wipe!
  • Nyoqix
  • Magic Arrows
  • Everybody’s Arcade
  • Numblast
  • Loot the Land
  • Frederic – Resurrection of Music
  • Incurvio

Games that you purchase will be linked to your PlayStation Network ID and can be played on any certified device. Devices by other manufacturers, including Fujitsu, Sharp, and ASUS will also be certified soon, presumably after HTC.

Personally,  I’m still waiting for Crash Bandicoot before I start jumping for joy, but perhaps the most exciting thing about this new mobile gaming portal is that Sony is expected to release a mobile SDK in November, which will allow independent game developers to bring their own titles to Playstation Mobile. I’m very excited to see what will come of that.

In the meantime, if your device is lucky enough to now be officially Playstation certified now, just follow the instructions at the link below to get everything up and running.
