Google pushes out Android 4.2.1 OTA for Nexus devices, fixes some annoying bugs

jelly bean small1 - for some reason we don't have an alt tag hereGoogle has begun pushing out an OTA update for the LG Nexus 4, ASUS Nexus 7, Samsung Nexus 10, updating the Android OS to 4.2.1 and bringing with it a few important bug fixes. As of publication, there have been no reports of the Samsung Galaxy Nexus receiving this update yet, but it is sure to be on the way soon – at least for the GSM versions.

Perhaps the most noticeable bug that is squashed in this latest update is the December contact bug, which prevented users from adding birthdays, anniversaries, and other important dates in December to individual contact entries. Other than that, there haven’t been any other noticeable changes, although I’m sure a few bugs behind the scenes have been fixed.

Notably, on the Nexus 4, the radios remain unchanged. This means that some people in Canada still have limited access to LTE, even though the phone officially doesn’t support LTE at this time.

Factory images haven’t been posted to the Google Developers site yet, and my personal Nexus 7 hasn’t gotten the OTA update notification yet, but I was able to find these direct download links from Droid-Life:
