Interestingly, HTC says that it will release “generic development ROMs of Jelly Bean” that will be available for both the One X and One S; presumably, similar development ROMs will also be made available for other devices that are expected to get the update, such as the EVO 4G LTE. However, if this does not occur, developers will most likely be able to port these development ROMs over to the EVO 4G LTE with little difficulty. When the official development ROMs become available, HTC will post download links on htcdev.com.
HTC has also stated that devices with 512MB or less of RAM will not get the Jelly Bean update. This currently includes the One V and Desire C. However, HTC is not ruling out the possibility of devices released in 2011 getting Jelly Bean, such as the EVO 3D. However, the manufacturer also isn’t make any specific promises.
The complete FAQ can be read at the source link below. I don’t know about you, but I’m most intrigued by these new development ROMs.
