EVO 4G LTE free at Best Buy - for some reason we don't have an alt tag here

Good and EVO reader Kevin just alerted us to a promotional email he received from Best Buy earlier today, advertising that the HTC EVO 4G LTE will be free today only. This price is apparently good for new customers, contract renewals, and add-a-lines, and both the white and black EVO 4G LTE are available.

The latest EVO is still stuck on Ice Cream Sandwich (Android 4.0.4), although an update to Jelly Bean is expected at some point in the near future. Rumors have been circulating that the Jelly Bean update could come as early as this month, fueled on by tweets from Sprint’s official Twitter account, although nothing has been confirmed yet.

The unactivated price of the EVO 4G LTE is $699.99 – a price no one in his or her right mind should pay. However, you can’t beat free if you’re in the market for a new phone and are eligible for an upgrade. And even though the phone still has Ice Cream Sandwich, it’s arguably still among the top phones currently on the market, even though some believe that it’s been dethroned by the likes of Samsung in recent months.

[Best BuyThanks, Kevin!
