Deal alert: Get a 32GB Nexus 7 with official case for $250

nexus 7 hardware 16 - for some reason we don't have an alt tag here

Towards the end of December, the 32GB version of the ASUS Nexus 7 went on sale  for $230. I upgraded my 8GB Nexus 7 at the time, and just today I was notified that the 32GB Nexus 7 is once again for sale on eBay from the exact same seller. If you missed the previous sale, the current offering is nearly as good as the previous deal, and probably worth picking up if you are somehow still on the fence about the Nexus 7.

However, there is one catch. Whereas the sale in December was just for the 32GB Nexus, today’s sale is for the 32GB Nexus as well as the official ASUS case. The sale price is $250, which may not seem like much of a discount at all, but when you factor in the official $20 ASUS case, it reduces the price of the actual Nexus 7 to $230, the same as it was before. Of course, this really only does you good if you wanted the case to begin with, and it doesn’t make sense if you don’t want the case. Still, the eBay sale avoids sales tax (except in New Jersey) and shipping costs, which would save me about $25 off of the retail price here in Georgia even without the case.

Since AT&T’s deal on the Nexus 7 really isn’t one, this is looking like the best price out there for a Nexus 7 at this time. Even if you don’t want the case, you avoid sales tax and shipping costs from Google Play, and retain the ASUS warranty on the device. I can also vouch for this eBay seller, as my tablet arrived new in box just as described, and in a timely manner. I ended up not buying the ASUS case anyways, but if you want it, this is one of the better deals around for the 32GB Nexus 7, and even if you don’t it might be better than paying tax and shipping from Google Play or your local electronics store.
