Google Wallet updated with new UI, still no physical Google Wallet cards

New Google Wallet - for some reason we don't have an alt tag hereGoogle Wallet received an update in the Play Store today, bringing the app more in line with Google’s Holo style and squashing a few bugs that plagued some users. The most noticeable change, of course, is this new user interface, which does away with the icons that appeared after entering one’s PIN, in favor of a tabbed navigation style.

Under the My Wallet tab, users can change their default credit card that they use when making purchases, as well as manage various offers, rewards cards, and gift cards. As far as I can tell, there don’t appear to be any new rewards cards or gift cards that are compatible with Google Wallet.

The Transactions tab displays a list of all your recent Google Wallet payments, and Explore displays a list of featured offers and nearby offers, helping you save money depending on where you happen to be when using the app. It’s definitely worth taking a look at, as I found a free 30-minute massage available just a few blocks away from my house.

Unfortunately, it doesn’t appear that the physical Google Wallet card has been made available with this update, but all signs are still pointing towards Google making this option available soon. To get the update on your own HTC EVO 4G LTE, Google Nexus device, or other compatible Android phone, simply open the Play Store on your device or check out the link below.
