Do you have Windows Phone 7.8 yet?
Last Wednesday, Microsoft started rolling out the Windows Phone 7.8 update for Windows Phone 7.5 devices and above. The update brought with it a few enhancements inspired by the latest Windows Phone 8 OS, including a new Start screen, additional accent colors, Bing lock screen wallpaper, and more.
Windows Phone users have been clamoring for this update ever since it was announced at the Windows Phone Summit last summer, but Microsoft and its partners held off on releasing the update for older devices until roughly three months after Windows Phone 8-equipped handsets arrived in stores. This caused more than a little frustration for some users, despite the fact that no release date was ever specified.
Thankfully, the wait is finally over – well, almost. Rather than push out the update to everyone at once, the deployment is being spaced out over the next few weeks. I know of a number of people who have already received the update, but the three Nokia Lumia 900s (on AT&T) that I tried weren’t eligible yet. Have you received Windows Phone 7.8 yet? If so, is it everything you’d hoped for? Let us know in the comments!
