Official Google Cloud Print released on Android

Cloud Print Logo

Google has finally released its Cloud Print service to Android devices running Android 2.3.3 and up. Available as a free download from the Play Store, the app allows you to print pretty much anything stored on your Android device on any printer you have connected to your Google account. Additionally, you can track the status of all your print jobs directly from the app.

Cloud Print has been a part of Chrome OS almost from the very beginning, and it has been built into desktop versions of the Chrome web browser for quite a while, as well. However, until now, there wasn’t any easy way for Android users to print directly from their devices, unless they downloaded a third party printing application like PrinterShare or happened to run a manufacturer skin (like HTC Sense) that had printing built in.

Cloud Print offers distinct advantages over some of the existing solutions, however. For example, you don’t have to be on the same network as the printer, and there is also the ability to send your printout to any other Android device you own in the form of a PDF.

Check it out below, but “Please consider the environment before printing.”
