Deal alert: GameStop will offer 50% bonus on all trade-ins, including the 2012 ASUS Nexus 7

GameStop trade in bonus coupon

If you are looking to unload your old ASUS Nexus 7 tablet for a new one, and you don’t want to go through the hassle of selling it yourself, then stop by your local GameStop. Right now, many retail locations are offering a coupon that can be used between August 19 and September 15, good for a 50% bonus on all trade-ins. Unlike many bonus offers at GameStop, this particular one is good on tablets, which means that your 32GB Nexus 7 might net you over $75, depending on its condition.

If you don’t want to wait until August 19, you can stop in at any GameStop right now and get a 30% bonus on your tablet trade-in, even without a coupon. There’s also another deal going on now that will double your in-store credit on any game systems you trade in, but unfortunately tablets are not eligible for this particular offer.

If you take advantage of this offer, you can effectively get a brand new 2013 32GB Nexus 7 for the same price you would have paid for a 16GB Nexus 7 in 2012. That’s not too bad, so it might be worth waiting if you were planning on trading in your Nexus 7 anyway. Of course, you’ll probably make a little bit more by selling it on eBay, but prices have gone down considerably for the tablet since the new version was announced, so many people might not consider it worthwhile going through the extra hassle. Ultimately, that’s your call.

Thanks, Tyler!
