Pocket Casts promises Chromecast support in the very near future

ShiftyJelly, the makers of Pocket Casts – my personal favorite podcast app on Android – have promised that Chromecast support is coming soon. As seen in the video above, casting podcasts to the Chromecast is quick and seamless, although it can’t be released to the public quite yet – as you might have heard, Google has only released the Chromecast SDK as a public beta, and it doesn’t want any third party apps distributed until it’s finalized.

Unlike some other developers who didn’t quite follow those rules, ShiftJelly does seem to be following Google’s commands. Therefore, I don’t think we’ll see any underhanded moves to break its casting functionality, and when this is ready to be released to the public, we should fully expect it to be awesome.

Pocket Casts is already the most awesome podcast app available for Android phones and tablets, so it’s bound to get even better with this. After all, there might be no better way to listen to my favorite podcasts than on my big screen TV in the living room.
