First, users checking their Google voicemails should call from one of the forwarding phones that they have set up on the desktop interface. If you call from a number that Google doesn’t recognize, you will subsequently be prompted to enter a verified number. Second, PIN codes can now be up to ten digits long, instead of only four.
The Google Voice Android app hasn’t been updated since April, and I don’t expect that this will require any app updates of any sort. I just wish that the Hangouts team at Google would just figure out how to integrate the two systems, and pull Voice out from what feels like limbo.
