HTC posts Android 4.3 ROM and RUU for HTC One Developer Edition

HTCdev Android 4-3

HTC must have been serious when it announced earlier this week that Android 4.3, along with an updated version of Sense, would be making its way to unlocked versions of the HTC One this week. The OTA update has already hit phones in Taiwan, and developer editions everywhere else – and now HTC has also posted the official ROM and RUU for the US developer edition on HTCdev.com.

Available at the link below, users who want to download either file will have to look for “Brightstar US WWE” – that’s the dev edition. Both come in at over 1GB, so it’s nice to see HTC hosting these files on its own servers, instead of forcing third party developers and other enthusiasts to find ways to distribute such large files.

The RUU is, of course, the easiest way to restore a phone that you might have completely messed up. Simply relock the bootloader, plug your phone into a Windows machine, and execute the RUU. Restoration will happen automatically, and 15 minutes later you’ll have a phone that feels factory fresh.

For developers who want to dig into this ROM a bit more, though, the .zip file would probably be best. Happy downloading!
