Motorola is working on an “X tablet” which will likely be be customizable

Moto-X

Earlier this year, Motorola finally announced its revamped new phone and product strategy in the Moto X. There was a lot of emphasis on the new customizability, as well as the fact that the device was actually made at a Texas plant instead of overseas.

Today, in an interview with Engadget, Motorola CEO Dennis Woodside revealed that the company is working on another tablet. Though the company’s previous tablet offerings were less than stellar, the reinvented Motorola may have something interesting planned. Though never explicitly stated, Woodside did talk about how important the idea of customization is to Motorola going forward, and how interested consumers are in customizing their devices with quick turnover times.

As a result, it isn’t too much of a stretch to imagine that whatever tablet Motorola comes up with will, like the Moto X, be customizable by the end user though Moto Maker. Sadly, we don’t actually know anything about more about the tablet other than it is in the works, much less a release date. Still, there should be at least some hope left that Motorola can produce an interesting addition to the tablet market, even if the Moto X wasn’t quite as ambitious as we thought.
