Ported apps directory lets you turn your device into any other device

Got root? The ported apps directory is a series of maintained posts of mods, apps, widgets, wallpapers, ROMs, etc. that have been ported, posted, and packaged, that can turn your device into something else entirely new, and that are available for pretty much any rooted device out there

Want the Galaxy Mecha program monitor widget on your HTC EVO 4G LTE? There’s a link for that. Desire the Oppo Find 5 wallpaper on your tablet? There’s a link there. The list of applications, mods, and download links to ported apps is so large that it takes a while to sink in that almost any phone’s features have been at one time ported and are available to download and put on most other devices.

The directory is divided into five sections for new devices, older devices, ROM ports and modded apps, carrier specific apps, and a graveyard of apps that need further porting.

I gave up counting how many devices, and how many device specific features, were available for download and have just settled for it’s a heaping heap of customizing potential if you’re lusting after some other phone’s features.

If you’re feeling like it’s time to bring back customization to your stock-looking ROM, or want to see how the other half lives, or you just want to play with a feature so you can tell your friend with that phone they paid far too much to get it, it’s an invaluable resource.

This should go without saying, but make backups if you’re going to start into phone brain surgery, especially when you’re making a Frankenphone with parts from multiple manufacturers.
