Android 4.3 update for Verizon branded HTC One is now delayed for a month

As the end of October approaches, Verizon customers who own the HTC One have been patiently waiting for their Android 4.3 update, which was originally slated to arrive by the end of this month. Unfortunately, HTC America President Jason Mackenzie has some bad news: it looks like the update will be delayed by about a month.

Mackenzie took to Twitter, as he’s done with the previous OTA announcements, with the bad news.

This means that Verizon HTC One owners are practically the last people in the world to get the update to Android 4.3: it’s already rolled out to the Google Play Edition; the international version; the Developer Edition; and AT&T, T-Mobile, and Sprint versions.

While details are scarce, it almost seems like the update was ready, but rejected by Verizon for whatever reason. In any case, this really shouldn’t come as any shock: Verizon was the last carrier to get the HTC One, after all. It also doesn’t have the best track record with keeping the Samsung Galaxy Nexus up to date, either.

We’ll keep our eye on this in case anything changes. But in the meantime, Verizon customers, it sucks to be you.
