Google is spreading the love and giving away hundreds of free Chromebooks

Chromebook Super MomTo celebrate the launch of the new HP Chromebook 11, Google is giving away 1000 free Chromebooks over the next week. All you have to do to enter for a chance to win is nominate someone whom you think deserves a Chromebook, and send them an invite to upload a picture of themselves that fits into a certain category you have chosen for them. You can also nominate yourself.

Categories include:

  • A far-flung friend
  • A tech savior
  • An A+ teacher
  • A super-proud pet owner
  • An explorer
  • A work buddy
  • A food documentarian
  • A savvy grandparent
  • A bestie
  • A news junkie
  • A snap-happy parent
  • A sports fanatic
  • A shutterbug
  • A YouTube master
  • A music evangelist
  • A night owl
  • A film fanatic
  • A cat
  • A photo bomber
  • A selfie fanatic
  • A computer hog
  • A keen collector
  • A cryptic updater
  • … and many more.

I personally nominated my mother to win (see the older picture above – I hate that my head got cropped out!), although it was technically a self-submission (my mother doesn’t even have an email address). I hope to win, so that I can finally teach her one or two things about the internet, but we’ll see.
