Google unveils HP Chromebook 11, with some new Chromebook features

HP Chromebook 11

Google and HP have just announced a new Chrome OS laptop, just in time for the holidays: the HP Chromebook 11. With an 11-inch screen, this will round out HP Chromebook portfolio nicely, which previously featured exclusively larger 14-inch displays. And unlike previous Chromebook models, Google and HP actually worked together closely on this one, which is “crafted with the same obsessive attention to detail as the Chromebook Pixel.”

Specs include:

Interestingly, users who purchase this will be able to use the same microUSB charger that they use to charge their Android phones – that certainly helps to simplify things quite a bit. Other typical Chrome goodies include 100GB of Google Drive cloud storage for two years, a 60-day free trial with Google Play Music All Access (regular $9.99/month pricing applies after that), and 12 free sessions of GoGo Inflight WiFi. Presumably, Google will also include at least 100MB of mobile data a month, once the LTE version is available for sale.

So what’s the asking price for all this? Only $279, which makes it the perfect replacement for the Samsung ARM Chromebook. (Not to mention the screen is a lot nicer, too!) Will you be picking this up for yourself or someone else this holiday season?
