Sprint announces 45 new LTE markets, 230 total

Sprint networkSprint is continuing its Network Vision expansion, which includes rolling out 4G LTE to its entire 3G footprint, and today announced 45 new markets for a total of 230.

Sprint says that LTE is also now available in parts of Manhattan, Queens and Staten Island, NY; along with  Atlanta, Boston, Dallas, Houston, Los Angeles, Miami, and San Juan, Puerto Rico.

While it’s encouraging to see Sprint continue with its LTE build out, it’s still incredibly frustrating that so many of these places are rural or otherwise sparsely populated. T-Mobile’s LTE roll out was amazing in comparison, and no matter how you look at it, T-Mobile still has more people covered with LTE than Sprint does.

In any case, if you are lucky enough to live in an area with Sprint LTE, be sure to tell us how it’s treating you – maybe you could even post some speed test results in the comments!
