Walmart is now selling the Google Chromecast, too

Chromecast at Walmart

We can now add Walmart to the growing list of retailers that carry my favorite little streaming dongle, the Google Chromecast. Just in time for the Black Friday holiday rush, the HDMI stick is listed as being in limited stores, but I confirmed earlier today that my local Walmarts do indeed have the device in stock.

Walmart is selling it at the same $35 price that everyone else is, and if you are not lucky enough to have it available in store locally, the retailer is also offering free shipping to your door or free in-store pickup.

At $35, the Chromecast already offers a fantastic value and is one of the cheapest ways to get content from Netflix, Hulu, and more to your TV – and with a public SDK on the horizon, it’s about to get even more interesting as more developers jump on board and app support broadens. While you’re not saving any money by purchasing this from Walmart, choice is good – and where else can you buy a Chromecast at the same location where you can get your tires changed and buy socks?
