Latest HTC One update causes big headaches for lots of Sprint users

HTC One SprintYesterday the HTC One on Sprint received an OTA update to 3.05.651.5, which supposedly fixed the invalid alert message after inserting a SIM card correctly, and included some HD voice improvements. However, the response of many Sprint customers has been, “Yeah, right.”

Pocketables has been getting lots of bug reports from users regarding this update, including an inability to update the PRL or Profile. Instead, people who try to do this manually get  error code 1233. Additionally, many are reporting that “No SIM card” error messages persist after this update, although for some it seems to take a few hours before this message shows up again.

On a positive note, we are getting reports that 4G signal strength seems a bit better for some people, but this could either be a placebo affect or the result of Sprint’s constant network improvements. At this point, it’s too early to tell if the new radios really make much of a difference in this area.
