Samsung unveils Galaxy Note 3 Wireless Charging S-View Flip Cover

Galaxy Note 3The Samsung Galaxy Note 3 has nearly everything – a big, beautiful, high-resolution screen; a tremendously-powerful processor; and an incredible array of great, intuitive features.

One thing the Galaxy Note 3 is missing is wireless charging. A number of other manufacturers have implemented the feature in their flagships this year, leaving Samsung’s Galaxy Note 3 with a glaring omission that has become a very wonted feature in a number of other high-end handsets.

Luckily, the Korean manufacturer is easing the pain for owners of the device by releasing a Wireless Charging S-View Flip Cover. The name’s a mouthful, but the accessory accomplishes a number of goals to make using the Galaxy Note 3 an even better experience. It replaces the stock battery cover to allow for wireless charging with a Qi-compatible dock, and it also covers and protects the front and back of your device. The front of the cover also has a cutout for easy access to camera, calls, and other features while it is closed.

For $69.99, the Galaxy Note 3 Wireless Charging S-View Flip Cover comes in black or white and is available on Samsung’s website. That price unfortunately doesn’t include a Qi charging station – you’ll be looking at spending around $100 in total for the cover and a Qi-compatible charging station, if you can find a decent one for around $30. Considering that the Galaxy Note 3 itself is around $700 unlocked, an extra $100 is a lot to ask for owners who just shoveled out all that money for their new phones.

Will you be purchasing the new cover for your Galaxy Note 3? Or is wireless charging just not worth it to you?
