Sprint HTC One recieves OTA update to 3.05.651.3

HTC One max

The Sprint-branded HTC One is currently receiving an OTA update to 3.05.651.3. No, it’s not the upcoming update to Android 4.4 KitKat, as that won’t be coming for a few more months, but it is an important update that fixes the previous issue in which users were presented with a “No SIM Card” message, stating that 4G LTE will not work without the required card.

Here’s the full changelog from Sprint:

  • RSSI fix
  • HD Voice Improvements
  • No-SIM Issue Fixed

Users can begin checking for the update immediately on their devices, or they can wait until their phones notify them of the update automatically. As always, rooted users will most likely lose root with this – the safest option would be to wait for you custom ROM developer to back this update into the latest version of his or her ROM. Everyone else, download and install – and be sure to let us know if you see any other fixes or new bugs!

San Jose, CA still have not gotten it. I wonder if it also might even fix the “WiFi checking all the time” issue, or even missing contacts pictures in SMS?

No update here yet either, Dubuque IA. Can hardly wait, the “no SIM” thing’s been bugging the crap outta me. Not that it does me any good, 4G’s a pipe dream here that won’t happen in the lifetime of this phone.

Nothing yet over here on the East Coast, but according to the XDA Dev. website Sprint pulled the update.

Also they listed KitKat will be out for the Sprint HTC One the week of Jan 20-24…but of course that remains to be seen…

No need for a software fix for the SIM problem. I fixed mine by putting a single piece of tape on the back of the SIM card. I haven’t had a single problem since then.

Any further news on this since Sprint pulled it? It’s hard enough finding any blogs besides this one that even let people know this update was even out!

Has anyone had the issue of the GPS coming on by itself, since the last update?

So this “notification” came and went. No update, no news, no nothing.

John F., anything to be had on a status of the update?
