Android 4.4 for HTC One is just waiting on US carrier approval

Android KitKat

Fresh on the heels of the news that Android 4.4 has already started rolling out to European versions of the HTC One, we now have word that the update is in the final stages before official release here in the States.

This news comes from HTC’s official US Twitter account:

This basically means that, once AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile, and Sprint all approve the update, it will begin rolling out to their respective devices. This is also another way for HTC to shift the blame for late updates to the carriers, and to be fair, the carriers do deserve part of the blame.

We’ll certainly be keeping our eyes peeled, and let you know as soon as we see the new software start to roll out.
