HTC One X on AT&T now receiving update to Android 4.2.2

HTC One X chart

The HTC One X on AT&T started getting its OTA update to Android 4.2.2 yesterday, although many One X owners are reporting that a small 16MB update precedes this bigger one. Weighing in at 537MB, this update brings most of the features of Sense 5 to the One X, although some obviously couldn’t be ported over due to hardware restrictions.

HTC has created a handy site to aid users in the transition to Sense 5, including a chart describing what was and was not ported over.

As a side note, if you receive the 16MB update but don’t get notified about this one, some users are reporting that setting your device’s clock ahead by one day will prompt the phone to download the update. As always, your mileage may vary. And of course, if you’re rooted and made any system-level changes, the update might either fail or somehow break your phone.

Now, if only we could get the EVO 4G LTE on board…
