Sprint brings Spark LTE to its home turf of Kansas City

Sprint announced today that its Spark LTE network is now live in Kansas City – it may not be the largest of cities, but it makes sense since that’s where Sprint is headquartered. Sprint says that Spark is capable of peak wireless speeds of up to 60Mbps down, with speeds expected to steadily increase to three times that by 2015.

Spark takes advantage of Sprint’s Clearwire spectrum in the 2500-2600MHz range to increase speeds, range, and capacity. It also combines spectrum from LTE on the 800MHz and 1900MHz ranges. Current devices that can take advantage of Spark include the Samsung Galaxy S4, the Galaxy S4 mini, the Galaxy Mega, the LG G2, the Google Nexus 5, and the HTC One max.
