Google Nexus 5 by LG spotted on The View
It’s been a while since we’ve done one of these types of posts, but this was just too much fun watching to pass up. In this morning’s episode of The View, Whoopi Goldberg did a segment with Ross Matthews titled “The Latest Stuff,” in which – you guessed it – the Google Nexus 5 by LG was presented as one of the easiest and slimmest phones to use.
Here’s a transcript from the video:
Whoopi: So, let me tell you about the new Nexus 5 red powered by Android. It is red hot popular – Google’s slimmest and fastest, its 5-inch HD display. Voice search. So you can say – what is the magic word, Ed?
[Voice offstage says, ‘OK Google.’]Ross: OK Google. So, I hold this up, and I say – what would I say?
Whoppi: OK Google, who’s Whoopi Goldberg?
Ross: OK Google. Who is Whoppi Goldberg?
Nexus 5: According to Wikipedia, Whoppi Goldberg is an American comedian, actress, singer/songwriter, political activist, author, and talk show host.
[Audience cheers.]Whoopi: And I gotta tell you, I love this. I mean, one of the things I love about this is, it is so easy. You can get everything done. It’s easy to figure out how to do. And everybody in this audience is getting everything here!
Google doesn’t really spend a lot of advertising dollars on its Nexus lineup – at least not its Nexus phones – so this very well might be the first that many people who watch The View heard of the phone. And since word of mouth is everything, props to Google for finally getting this device the exposure it deserves.
