HTC sends out press invites for March 25 announcement

HTC save the date

Fasten your seatbelts – the new HTC One rumors and leaks are about to get a lot more plentiful. HTC began sending out invites this morning for a press event to take place on March 25 in both New York City and London. While details about the successor to last year’s HTC One are not official or confirmed, we have received some credible information about a possible dual camera configuration on the back (HTC just keeps trying to innovate in the mobile camera sector, with mixed results), along with software navigation buttons in lieu of the hardware buttons that the Taiwanese manufacturer has been so reluctant to give up (finally).

Samsung is expected to unveil the Galaxy S5 next Monday, giving it a full month head start over HTC. Although HTC just announced its new innovative Advantage program, I can’t help but wonder whether that is enough to keep interested consumers away from Samsung.

Hopefully HTC has even more up its sleeves that we don’t yet know about, which will allow it to deliver an extra hard punch on March 25. We’ll know for sure soon enough.

I am glad I did not jump on the Samsung bandwagon. Just my opinion.

I think the advantage program is ridiculous because it only applies to new purchases made past 2/18. They are literally about to drop a new phone, for which it might be worth it, but I’m pretty certain that I’ll be holding off on upgrading for at least another year. My HTC One has served me quite well thus far.

Having said how silly that is, I’d like to say that I still think that HTC has the best phone out on the market today, and I hope they continue that trend. I’ve been through the EVO 3D, EVO LTE, and now the One, so I hope HTC can still persuade me with their devices in the future. The only other company that has come close in my opinion is Sony, but their phones aren’t offered on Sprint. :/ Maybe HTC will also waterproof/dustproof the M8? Who knows.

We are in the same boat. I would love for Sprint to get some Sony phones. Until then, it’s HTC for me.
