Verizon might finally begin selling Google Nexus 7 by ASUS next week

Here’s a nice rumor to start your weekend: Droid Life is reporting that, according to unnamed sources, Verizon will begin selling the Google Nexus 7 tablet by ASUS next week, possibly as early as February 13.

Even though the 2013 LTE Nexus 7 has always technically been compatible with Verizon’s network, Verizon never officially certified it as such, making it incredibly cumbersome for customers who wanted to activate the tablet on Verizon’s LTE network. (In most cases, customers were required to activate the LTE SIM in another device, and then transfer that to the Nexus 7.)

Verizon also constantly changed its story as to why it was not officially allowing the Nexus 7 onto its network – at one point, Verizon said that the tablet simply needed to go through its own internal certification process, and then at another point, Verizon said that it only needed to get an OTA update first.

Whatever the case, it looks like any issues have been resolved, and it’s almost ready to go. Anyone planning to activate this on Verizon?
