Chromecast finally goes global: Launching in the UK March 19

UK Chromecast

Just a few days after revealing that the Chromecast would be more widely available in other areas of the world very soon, it now appears that UK consumers will be able to purchase the streaming dongle in just two short days.

According to leaked information obtained by Android Police, at least one UK retailer already has the device in stock and has alerted its employees about the upcoming launch. Dixons is the only retailers we can confirm at the moment, and it’s not clear what the asking price will be, but it’s probably a safe bet to assume that Google will still sell it to UK consumers in the Play Store, along with various other online and brick and mortar retailers.

Although it’s an incredibly simply little device, the Chromecast is also incredibly powerful – and it’s getting better and better as time goes on and more compatible apps are released. Any UK readers out there planning on picking one up Wednesday?
