Google’s Chromecast is now available in 11 more countries

ChromecastIn an exciting announcement for eager consumers across the globe who have been waiting to get their fingers on Google’s Chromecast, Google said earlier today that the HD streaming dongle is now available in eleven more countries: Canada, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, Netherlands, Norway, Spain, Sweden and the U.K.

If you’re in one of those countries, Google says to look for the Chromecast at Amazon, Google Play, Currys PC World, Elkjøp, FNAC, Saturn, Media Markt, and other retailers.

Additionally, Google says that it is working with local content providers to bring even more streaming content to the Chromecast. Specifically, BBC iPlayer in the U.K. and France’s TV Pluzz, SFR TV, and CANALPLAY were mentioned as coming soon.

As Google expands Chromecast availability, and even more content providers and developers jump on board, it seems that Google really has a hit on its hands. I can’t wait to see what the rest of the year will bring.
