HTC Sense 6 Android 4.4.2 for the HTC EVO 4G LTE appears

Sense 6 Android 4.4.2Sense 6 and Android 4.4.2 have made it to the HTC EVO 4G LTE in a very early work-in-progress. The little EVO that could keeps going.

It should be noted up front that this is not a ROM an end user is going to want to tinker with unless it’s on a deactivated phone. Issues currently include camera, sound, OTA data (WiFi works), and phone service. So it’s sort of like having Sprint service in my neighborhood.

Beyond that bit of warning, there’s not a lot of information yet. There’s no install notes yet, so whether it uses the 4.3 firmware (probably) or the older JB firmwares is uncertain, but it does come from a developer (Sinistertensai,) who’s not known for hoaxes so we can expect a working model hopefully pretty soon.

Beyond that, it’s just three screenshots for the time and a nearly empty thread as it just posted so no feedback yet.

If Android 4.4.2 gets up and running and stable on the EVO 4G LTE we can expect some performance increases due to ART and Sense 6 being streamlined and optimized somewhat.

So for those about to cast off their EVO 4G LTEs because of lack of updates/disappointment with the 4.3 update, there’s some hope ahead. Well, there’s always hope in the root world realistically.

Whether or not it turns out well, who knows. But there’s some great Sense development going on these days after the EVO 4G LTE’s been replaced by HTC for a second time.

Now we just have to wait and see if someone’s going to manage to get this on the original EVO 4G. Doubt it will happen, but expect that the EVO 4G LTE will see a mostly working version pretty soon.

If you’ve installed it, let us know how it works for you. With my schedule at the moment flashing only happens on Thursday-Saturday.
