PSA: T-Mobile also increased all tablet/hotspot data plans by half a gig

T-Mobile tablet plans

T-Mobile’s new Simple Choice plans went live on Sunday, and in addition to increasing the amount of high speed data available on all phone plans by half a gig, it looks like T-Mobile also increased all tablet and hotspot data plans by the same amount.

This means that current postpaid T-Mobile subscribers can now add a tablet or other mobile data line and get more data for the same price:

  • 200MB/month for free
  • 1GB/month (+200MB/month) for $10
  • 3GB/month (+200MB/month) for $20
  • 5GB/month (+200MB/month) for $30
  • 7GB/month (+200MB/month) for $40
  • 9GB/month (+200MB/month) for $50
  • 11GBmonth (+200MB/month) for $60

These prices include the $10 discount that current postpaid subscribers get when adding a data line. All mobile data lines also include free international roaming at 2G speeds.

To put things in perspective, AT&T current charges $14.99/month for 250MB of data, Verizon starts at $50/month for 4GB of shared data, and Sprint starts at $5/month for a measly 25MB of data. T-Mobile is the only major carrier that offers unlimited throttled data for tablets and hotspots, without any overages.

Anyone thinking of adding a tablet line with T-Mobile?
