Deal alert: Chromecast is only $29.99 at Best Buy and Amazon

Two of the largest electronics retailers in the US have put the Google Chromecast on sale once again: the little dongle that could is now only $29.99 at both Best Buy and Amazon.

For those keeping track, this is the same price as the ASUS Cube with Google TV with the Groupon deal and the mail in rebate – or, you could get the ASUS Cube for an amazing $19.99 with Groupon’s $10 mobile app promotion.

In any case, thirty bucks is nothing to sneeze at for a very capable device that was only recently was opened up to developers and has seen an explosion of compatible apps released in the Google Play Store. Personally, I’ve used my Chromecast practically every day that I’ve owned it, so I’ve definitely gotten my money’s worth.

And at the very least, $30 for a Netflix streamer is pretty darn good.
