Google Nexus 5 by LG scheduled for OTA update today – is it Android 4.4.3?

Nexus 5 OTA update

According to Sprint’s support site, the Google Nexus 5 by LG is scheduled to receive an OTA update today. The changelog only says that it will enable Sprint Spark on band 26 and band 41, and that it will include miscellaneous Android updates. Since the Sprint version is the same as the unlocked GSM version that Google sells through the Play Store, it is very likely that all Nexus 5 owners will see an update soon – possibly bumping up the Android version to 4.4.3.

Sprint says that the build number will change to KTU48F, and many other people have speculated about what kinds of bugs a future OTA might fix, including that nasty camera bug that drains the battery and a bug that sometimes prevents users from reconnecting to WiFi networks.

If this is an update to Android 4.4.3, then it’s likely that we’ll see similar updates hit other Nexus devices and the Google Play Edition lineup very soon. To check if it’s available for you, navigate to Settings > About Phone > System Updates.
