T-Mobile introduces new Simple Starter plan for $40/month

T-Mobile Simple Starter

For consumers who are interested in T-Mobile but want a base plan that’s a little cheaper than $50, the nation’s fourth largest carrier has introduced a new type of plan called “Simple Starter,” for only $40/month.

The Simple Starter plan includes unlimited talk and text with 500MB of full speed data. However, there are a few things that set this plan apart from Simple Choice plans:

There are two options for extra data: a 1-day on-network data pass of 500MB for $5, and a 7-day on-network data pass of 1GB for $10.

With those stipulations in mind, this still might make sense for certain segments of the population. Tethering is included with the 500MB of data, and it will be available for prepaid and business customers soon. For regular postpaid subscribers, it will be available starting April 12.

Rumor has it that T-Mobile has two more announcements planned for this week (one for tomorrow and one for Friday), so stay tuned to find out what’s in store. This isn’t even being marketed as UNcarrier 5.0, so there’s probably even more in store after this week. It’s certainly an exciting time to be a T-Mobile customer!
