Google Chromecast now available Japan, Australia, Belgium, Norway, Portugal, and Switzerland

ChromecastGoogle wasn’t kidding when it said that it had plans to make the Chromecast available in more places around the world. The latest countries that have the privilege to purchase the media streaming dongle are Japan, Australia, Belgium, Norway, Portugal, and Switzerland.

In Australia, it will set customers back $50, while Japanese consumers will pay 4200 yen. European customers can purchase the device for 35 euros.

Additionally, Google fans in Norway and Switzerland can now purchase Nexus devices from the Play Store, too. As some have pointed out, the exchange rates make Nexus devices a little more expensive in Europe, with the 16GB Nexus 5 coming in at just over $500 in Norway and almost $500 in Switzerland. The Nexus 7 also starts at about $350 in Norway and $333 in Switzerland. The Chromecast is about $50USD in both places, as well.

It’s great to see Google getting more international – after all, there are some very important places outside of the US!
