Tip: Tons of HBO shows are now available on Amazon Prime Instant
If you’ve been a loyal Netflix subscriber who never saw the need to get Amazon Prime for the video content, that may just change now. Just like Amazon promised a few weeks ago, a bunch of HBO shows are now available for free for Prime customers – shows that will never make it to Netflix because of the exclusivity deal signed by HBO with Amazon.
The initial round includes:
- The Sopranos
- The Wire
- Deadwood
- Rome
- Six Feet Under
- Eastbound & Down
- Enlightened
- Flight of the Conchords
- True Blood
- Boardwalk Empire
- Treme
- Band of Brothers
- The Pacific
- John Adams
- Parade’s End
- Angels in America
- Mary and Martha
- Temple Grandin
- You Don’t Know Jack
- Louis CK
- Ellen DeGeneres
- Lewis Black
- Bill Maher
- When the Levees Broke
- Ghosts of Abu Ghraib
- Autopsy
- Iceman
And Amazon says that even more shows are on the way. (So there’s still hope for Game of Thrones!)
While Amazon doesn’t yet have a Prime Instant Video app for most Android devices, it is available on Google TV and Amazon’s Kindle lineup. It’s also available for iOS devices and a bunch of other streaming services like Roku.
Well, at least I know what I’ll be doing this summer…
