Amazon finally starts selling the 13.3-inch ASUS C300 Chromebook

Amazon C300

The 13.3-inch ASUS C300 Chromebook is finally available for purchase here in the US, after a way-too-long waiting period.

Initially available for $249 on Amazon – essentially the same price as its smaller 11.6-inch counterpart – it now looks like Amazon itself is sold out, while a third part retailer has it for $299 with free shipping. As of publication, there are only five units in stock.

ASUS first revealed the C300 back in May, and what makes the 13.3-inch version so intriguing is that it has the same internal specs as the 11.6-inch version ( Intel Bay Trail dual-core processor running at just over 2GHz, 2GB RAM, and 16GB SSD), but the price is the same in spite of the larger screen.

The smaller version has been available in the US and the UK for quite a while now, but many people have been delaying purchases in anticipation of the larger model.

ASUS says the battery on the 13.3-inch version will last around 10 hours, which is one hour less than the 11.6-inch version. Currently, there is no word on when and if other retailers will start selling the 13.3-inch model.
