Amazon launches Kindle Unlimited: Unlimited e-books for $9.99/month
We reported on the rumor yesterday, and only one day later it turns out to be true: This morning, Amazon announced that it is launching Kindle Unlimited, an unlimited e-book subscription service that will work across all of Amazon’s Kindle devices, along with Kindle reading apps for iOS, Android, Blackberry, Windows Phone, Windows, and Mac OS.
Kindle Unlimited gives customers access to over 600,000 e-books, including some popular bestsellers like the Lord of the Rings trilogy and the Harry Potter series. There are also more than 2,000 audio books included with the service (that number seems kind of puny), that are integrated with Amazon’s Whispersync for Voice – this allows readers to alternate between reading and listening, as they see fit. There are a few Kindle exclusives, too, along with a three month free subscription to Audible, which gives subscribers access to over 150,000 audio books (that’s more like it).
Customers can sign up for a free 30 day trial, but it doesn’t look like Prime members will get any break here. More information is available at the source link below.
