Android L gets ported to HTC One M7
If you’re still hanging on to your 2013 HTC One M7, but you also crave to find out what all the fuss is about with Android L, your wait is over. Thanks to the always brilliant developers over at XDA, HTC fans can also join in on the Android L fun – not just Nexus users.
Google’s Android L preview has been ported to the HTC One M7, as you can see from the photo on the right. The developers who are responsible for this say that the ROM itself is currently an alpha, although Google’s own version felt kind of like an alpha at times on my Nexus 5, as well.
It’s important to note that the developers used a heavily modded ramdisk and kernel, and are highly recommending that users who flash this do not flash anything else on top of this. Using an alternate kernel could make the ROM stop booting. Additionally, there are issues with WiFi, Bluetooth, mobile data, various sensors, the camera, and the speakers. In other words, it is definitely not stable enough to be a daily driver yet, but it is still something fun that you can play around with. And it will undoubtedly get better as more time passes and more bugs are squashed.
