T-Mobile continues aggressive pricing war by doubling your data when adding a tablet

T-Mobile double tablet data

In addition to offering Simple Starter customers four times their current data allotment for only $5, T-Mobile has something special up its sleeves for Simple Choice customers, as well. Beginning on September 3, anyone who adds a tablet to his or her Simple Choice plan for $10/month will get double the total amount of data.

In order to double your data, T-Mobile is actually matching your smartphone’s data allotment to your tablet line. So, if you are on a 1GB phone plan, and you add a tablet for $10, your tablet will also have 1GB of data. If you are on a 3GB phone plan, your tablet will get 3GB (still for $10). Unfortunately, T-Mobile is only doubling the data up to 5GB, so if you are over 5GB on your phone (including unlimited), you will only get 5GB on your tablet. But still, for $10, that’s a darn good deal.

This means that, if you’re lucky enough to be on T-Mobile’s old unlimited plan for $70, you can add a tablet line for $10 and get 5GB of data for it. Each month, you’d only pay $80 total. That’s really, really good – and this is in addition to the 200MB that T-Mobile is already giving all tablet users for free.

Sprint, the ball is in your court.
