Boost Mobile extends double data promotion indefinitely

Although Boost Mobile’s double data promotion was set to expire November 6, it looks as if the Sprint-owned prepaid carrier has decided to extend the promotion for an indefinite period of time (although the fine print still says “limited time only” with no expiration date). With this promotion, customers get double the data of Boost’s normal plans, also at a cheaper price: The “data boost” plans lower the monthly rate by $5 while doubling the data and giving customers unlimited talk and text.

This means that the $40 plan that normally gives you unlimited talk, text, and 500MB of data is only $35 for unlimited talk and text while adding 1 GB of data. A $45 plan gives you 5GB (instead of 2.5GB for $50), and the $55 plan gives you 10GB of data per month (instead of 5GB for $60).

Since T-Mobile is now competing head to head with Sprint for the most prepaid customers (it recently surpassed Sprint), it will be interesting to see what T-Mobile is able to come up with to address Boost’s plans. Any Boost customers here who want to share their experiences with the carrier?
