HTC One M8 Lollipop & Sense 6 released to Dev and Unlock versions

Android L updateIf you’re the owner of an HTC One M8 Unlock or Developer Edition, then you might want to go and check for system updates. If you’re an owner of a standard M8 from your carrier, you’ll have to wait a little longer for carrier integration, but the goal is in sight.

The update clocks in at 585MB (although when it’s finally released on Sprint, Verizon, AT&T, etc, chances are it will vary). The new Lollipop software brings the usual Daft Punk style harder, faster, better, stronger functionality along with several new features.

If you’re the owner of a rooted HTC One M8 you can expect that the developer of your favorite Sense ROM of choice probably has this and is working tonight to deliver you a much better experience. The update was announced by Mo Versi, VP of Product Management at HTC earlier today on his Twitter feed and followed shortly thereafter by tweets with screenshots of the system update screen.

If you’re the cautious type, you might want to wait to install this a bit as we’ve all seen what HTC has managed to break in the past with software updates. Having played on the GPE edition though it appears they have a pretty good base to work from.
